aj oishi art

A.J. is a new addition to the gallery, her calm and peaceful paintings are created by compiling thousands of small dots. The circular designs that are common throughout her work symbolize individuals and their journey towards a more healthful, conscious life.

STEPHEN FOSS

Winter's Progress III, oil on panel, 60" x 48"

stephen foss

Stephen is widely known for the visually rich surface finish and color that show a return to heavily worked finishes in contemporary painting. Foss applies paint in numerous layers; he then works the surface to allow sublayers and carefully prepared groundwork to peek through the top layer. This results in paintings with varied colors and great depth.

GARY KOMARIN

Stacked Cakes, Teal on Creme, mixed media on paper, 50" x 48"

gary komarin cakes

This is the newest painting in Komarin's successful Pop-inspired Cake series. Komarin’s Cakes are an unexpected marriage between the architectural and the domestic. The cakes are painted from top down to bottom in one easy movement. Adjustments are made on second and third passes. The drips take place as paint overflows the brush and allows for a free and unpredictable flow. Just as with an actual cake being iced, the drips move in their own unique ways and add an element of unpredictability to the whole.

MEREDITH PARDUE

Yucatan Flora II, mixed media on canvas, 40" x 48"

meredith pardue

Meredith's abstract, botanic paintings are based on images she finds in nature; she is inspired by the lush landscapes of her childhood in Louisiana, and by the transparent, translucent, and opaque impression of colors in transition.
