Erik Gonzales - Ex Voto

Gonzales' abstract paintings are contemporary, yet his heavily textured surfaces have the feel of time warn frescoes. In these paintings, layer upon layer is built up and at times removed to expose what once lay beneath. Much of his source imagery and inspiration comes from traveling abroad and discovering new ways to reinterpret old myths. Organic structures and orderly grids become a new lexicon for telling these stories and ideas. The opening reception is Jan 29, 5:30-8pm. See all of Gonzales' available paintings.
